"Who's Betty??? We want answers!" Blame Betty is an American Rockabilly, Roots Rock and Surf music band formed in 2019 by guitarist and vocalist, George Comes, drummer and vocalist, Jim Buehl, and bassist and vocalist Bobby Villa.  The group whose style is based upon the sounds of Sun Records and other artists from the 1950s is heavily influenced by Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Link Wray, Johnny Cash in addition to Southern California Surf music.   

The dynamic trio with a big sound has played together in bands for the past 15 years and has developed a unique blend of Rockabilly and 50’s Rock n Roll.  Based in San Diego, Blame Betty is quickly establishing a following locally and on social media, engaging audiences with their musical prowess, three part harmonies, crowd pleasing instrumentals and sense of fun!

George Comes

Guitar and Vocals

George (aka Silver G) is another songwriter/musician from the land of Canada.  He has been a member of bands such as the Billy Joe Burk show (Elvis Impersonator), Chord Extension, Sailor and the Swimmers, Idlehands and Idletrain. He was also part of the infamous Calipso Dudes, Twangdaddys, The Micromanics, Electric Buffalo, The Muddies, The Phoenix Band and now Blame Betty, the funnest Rockabilly band in San Diego.  George is also capable of setting up your Wide Area Network as well as your company Firewall.  George brags about having received more spankings than most guitar players.  Probably because he deserved it or most likely just liked it.

Jim Buehl

Drums and Vocals

Jim learned his chops in the Chicago music scene of the mid 60s.  The British Invasion left him spellbound with The Beatles as his number one influence.  He has played in Classic Rock, Motown, Beatles Tribute and Country bands. In 1997 Jim was named Southern California Country Drummer of the Year.  Playing Blame Betty Roots and Rockabilly music feels like home.

Bobby Villa

Bass and Vocals

A San Diego native singer songwriter, producer and recording artist, Bobby is a talented musical treasure and a multi-instrumentalist who plays bass, guitar and keyboards. His influences come from the dawn of rock n' roll through the British Invasion, the explosion of sweet soul music in the 60's and beyond. He  and Jim played with an Elvis impersonator for a few years and they have played together in various bands since the 20th century. Bobby had a short stint as a DJ in college and has a near encyclopedic knowledge of record labels. In 1997, he was named Southern California Country Bass Player of the year.
